The idea of Tek Import was conceived in the 90's, when its founder and current Managing Director, was living on Kalimantan Island, the Indonesian part of the island of Borneo.
Impressed by the natural resources of Indonesia and craftsmanship of the people, he met with local makers and manufacturers of wood products and began importing those products to Europe.
At the very beginning the company launched its business with a line of braided bags, the activity quickly diversified towards teak pieces of furniture and then hardwood flooring.
Professionalism and a desire to discover other products made of exotic wood led to gradually importing from other areas of the world, especially Brazil.
